The publicity wouldn't be for the actor, it would be for the anime industry. Create impressions and drama makes things memorable and there's so much drama in internet tabloids like ANN and Bleeding Cool/Fool, it makes them look more and more like WWE. If there's no court case, he can just get work doing something else. My life experience has taught me the more entertaining or sensational a drama is, the more likely it's all staged.

I used to obsess all over the news and internet drama and used to watch Rekeita Law all the time, but if I try watching that, I feel like I'm watching WWE Backstage and I should be doing something better with my life than worrying about the anime industry ignoring Blackstone's Ratio, innocent until proven guilty. I used to have a justice complex and wanted the guilty to rot in prison when proven beyond a reasonable doubt, (like this Thurman fellow, that actually admits to it and I'll take his word for it) but you don't have agency in issues like twitter makes you believe you do. What will happen will happen, just don't worry about stuff you can't control.
