I may be off. I don’t have time to look into it right now, but for me the coup is when they were in charge and started killing leaders of other parties, which was afaik before 1932. Machtergreifung and prohibition of other parties was more of an escalation in my mind. I have to look into this, I’m not to good with dates.

The point I as trying to make was that the 3. Reich wasn’t representing the majority in Germany. If such a thing even existed in the first place. Germany as a nation state was around 20 years older than Hitler himself. From the end of the 1. Reich (hre) to the end of the 3. It was less then 150 years and all three of them were disbanded by outside powers (1xnapoleon, 2x allies). They were still transitioning from a feudal system and struggling with anti democratic elements that we’re heavily influenced from outside in the lead up to the Cold War.
