[pgn][Event "ICC 20m+5s"] [Site "?"] [Date "2015.04.13"] [Round "?"] [White "mhavgar"] [Black "ciar"] [Result "1-0"] [ECO "D35"] [PlyCount "83"] [EventDate "2015.??.??"] 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6 3. cxd5 {I wanted to play an exchange, and i don't know a drawback to cd on move 3.} exd5 4. Nc3 Nf6 5. Bg5 Be7 6. e3 O-O 7. Bd3 {I'm delaying a possible nf3 to make it less easy for him to develop his LS bishop. Preserving the option to play Nge2} Nbd7 {This is probably theory that i don't know. I am thinking he is either planning on playing Nf8-Ng6 or preparing for c5.} 8. Nge2 {In view of a possible c5 i avoid Qc2 to stay off a potential open c-file. I won't mind the IQP after c5.} a6 {Is a little mysterious to me. Maybe he plans b4? I feel playing a4 here would be an over-reaction and a weakening of my queenside, and i decide not to play against this idea, planning for Na4 after b5-b4.} 9. O-O c6 10. h3 {I am still in doubt on where to place the queen (Qd2 was my alternative move here). h3 looks like it can allow me to keep my bishop, and it further restricts his bishop.} Bd6 11. Qc2 { I only play Qc2 now that it threatens a capture on h7. I want to induce a move of the g or h-pawn, and plan to play Bh4 - Bg3 so that i get my knight to g3 after a trade.} h6 12. Bh4 Re8 13. Bg3 Bb4 14. a3 {I'm in doubt about this move. It is often unneccesary to wais a tempo with a3, but i want to prevent him from easily playing c5.} Ba5 15. b4 {Very much in doubt about the quality of this move. Yes it stops c5, but it makes my own ideas with f3 harder to play with his bishop on the a7-diagonal. In the end i envision a line with a4 a5 and the knight comping to c5 to block his bishop's scope} Bb6 16. a4 Nf8 17. a5 {I was also considering to play b4 here, but i thought ab4 ab4 c5 gave him good play} Ba7 18. Na4 Ne4 {I had not paid much attention to this move. I was contemplating Bxd4, but the position looked very closed, and maybe to his advantage after the de5.} 19. Bh2 {I was worried Nxg3 would help him too much. I was thinking it would be very hard to carry out a central expansion with his unopposed DS bishop.} Qh4 {Another move that i did not take into account much. I dont think he has enough for a sacrifice here, but it makes me spend time. Beginning to feel the preassure on the clock slightly} 20. f3 {I am tempted to refute his last moves, and f3 is my plan after all.} Ng5 21. Bg3 {This forces him to give a piece. After Nf6 i was going to play Bg3 still.} Qh5 22. Nf4 Nxh3+ 23. gxh3 {Nxh3 Bxh3 looks less tempting as e3 hangs. This leaves my kingside weak though} Qg5 24. Qf2 {Looks reasonable. The objective is clear, consolidate and win. Time situation is getting bad, a few minutes left only. Nerves are getting a little worse as the preassure is on me now} Bf5 25. Bxf5 Qxf5 26. Rae1 {I saw g5, but thought i could play Nh5 as a response, but i did not realize Qg6 traps the knight. Shoot. Still i am liking my position better than his} g5 27. Ne2 Nd7 28. Kh2 {He lets me defend, happy to do so.} Re6 29. Nc5 Nxc5 {I don't mind this trade} 30. bxc5 Bb8 31. Bxb8 Rxb8 32. Ng3 Qd3 33. Qe2 Qa3 34. Qd2 {I'm trying to threaten Ra4 and keep the e3-pawn} Rbe8 35. Nf5 Kh7 36. Ra1 Qb3 37. Rfb1 Qc4 38. Rb4 Qxb4 39. Qxb4 Kg6 40. Qb1 Kh5 41. Ng7+ Kh4 42. Qe1# {White wins} 1-0 [/pgn]
