Announcement: Reiser5 filesystem

Wow, what a weird mailing list.

Some months it seems completely dead. Most of the time there's more spam than ontopic content. There seem to be about 5 active people in it. There are patch submissions with not a single reply to them.

In June, Ted Ts'o dropped a bunch of test results that seem to show some very significant issues in the code. This went completely unacknowledged.

So, some work is getting done, I think mostly on reiserfs3 that's still in the kernel, and a bunch of work seems to be falling into the void.

I'm quite confused about who is reiserfs5 for, since what little activity there is seems to concentrate mostly on maintenance.

I've got to say though that I'm very impressed by the dedication. Keeping up work on such a technical matter in the face of what seems to be zero external interest is most impressive.
