Obviously context matters a lot, but yes if you are telling a story and use a racial slur and it makes other people in the group uncomfortable, a normal human with sympathy and empathy will probably do their best to avoid that word. His justification for saying the n word isn't gonna magically make people comfortable with it, and being someone who actually cares about the people around me being comfortable, I would expect them to stop. No one can make him stop, but if someone in real life asked you to stop using a racial slur cause it made them uncomfortable, you would really just say "fuck off" and continue? It's just unfathomable to me that anyone has that kind of lack of empathy
