Anonymous lottery player drops winning ticket in Salvation Army kettle

Technically the government survives off of one paying taxes, see Greece and Italy for an example of what happens when an entire country doesn't do that charity work a generation.

Charities to pay for the homeless, vaccines, healthcare and natural disasters etc are an insult to me because that is what taxes should be covering to ensure that people don't suffer. This way the next cancer diagnosis doesn't destroy a family, a layoff doesn't force a son or daughter to leave school, and Hurricane Sandy isn't blamed on the gays and politicians can't say that we can't afford to help our fellow man. On top of this, things that the government damn well should be doing but aren't keep happening. For instance, keeping lead out our city water (Flint), keeping lead out of a suburban neighborhoods soil (Los Angeles), inspecting industrial wells (Deepwater) and fertillizer facilities that shouldn't blow up (Waco). This is what Taxes should pay for but are not being used for effectively and really piss me off because I constantly hear about how people hate paying taxes that could be being used to pay for this shit and just want to cut them and then I follow them through the grocery line every week and watch them donate "For the Cure" and they don't care that money is used even less effectively than their damn tax dollars. There is no such thing as a free lunch, but one can at least use the money effectively and efficiently.
