Another Michigan barbershop reopens, defying Governors order

I keep seeing arguments for other businesses getting to stay open while salons and barbershops remain closed. There's a very good reason for this...you have to be extremely close to a person for an extended period of time while giving them a haircut. This puts everyone in that shop at a MUCH HIGHER RISK than keeping distance inside a liquor store for example. Much easier to keep distance when there's one exchange between customers and employees.

Also, liquor stores are more than just liquor stores typically. A lot of them are local convenience stores in low income areas where access to nearby grocery stores is more difficult. Many people rely on local liquor and convenience stores for their literal grocery shopping. So yeah, it makes perfect sense for them to stay open.

A barber shop and salon is not an essential business. You can cut and dye your own hair. I've been doing it for years, saves me a ton of money.

Yes I know this is someone's livelihood, but until non essential businesses are allowed to reopen, they can be patient like everyone else. I'm not considered an essential worker and so I am also jobless right now. But I know how important it is to be patient, a value my parents started teaching me at a young age, because everything isn't all about me. I care about other people than myself, and even if I won't directly be affected by the virus, I could very easily affect someone else far worse than I can imagine.
