Another WoW Dev Speaks Up on Forced RTO

If teams are really claiming RTO is ruining their productivity this badly I think the issue is likely with the individuals, not the business.

True to an extent, at least at my last job. When WFH we'd often start at 8 and log off by 6, whereas in-person we'd reach the office at 9 (and actually start around 9:30), take an hour long lunch break in between and clock out by 4:30 to beat traffic.

The problem post-Covid was that management wanted WFH levels of productivity while expecting us to return to the office 2-3 days a week. For most of us that meant leaving the house an hour earlier and being available for calls through the evening at home. Keep in mind we were never paid overtime for the extra hours either - it was just easy enough to do when WFH.

Anyways, folk started getting review notes because of this and suddenly the company found staff quitting en masse.
