It's mostly about U.S. exceptionalism, which is the long-held belief by the U.S. that it deserves this preeminent position in the world by virtue of championing the causes of peace, justice and freedom, especially for its own citizens, when in reality it practices this weird brand of moral superiority guided by multitudinous hypocrises, contradictions and delusions.
What much of the world sees now is that the U.S. is slowly dying from the inside out, evidenced by:
Blah blah blah...
Particular other countries are not without blame with regards to the above either, but the U.S. pathologises these into an artform. The only thing that determines whether the U.S. is a first-, second- or third-world country depends on what zip code one is referring to.
Many people of the world are outside the box looking in, not living in the U.S. trying to look out. Many are still having to deal with the direct or indirect ramifications of U.S. foreign and domestic policies which exploited its own advantage at the expense of others in the global community for many years. If the U.S. wishes to improve its standing in the world and voluntarily attract more respect and dignity from others who don't live there, then it needs to stop advertising itself like a FUCKING annoying, self-interested, belligerent, ethically-bereft nation of dumb shits who can't have a coherent, adult conversation about the very real threats to the longevity of their Union and who refuse to act decisively with care and consideration about improving the quality of life for all its people, not just a bunch of rich thieving fuckers at the top of their pyramid.
TLDR: The U.S. rightfully attracts a lot of criticism for the sum of its shitty lifestyle choices and geo-political decisions, and therefore people worldwide will always be calling them out on it.
