No. The context is what should be afraid of when interviewing a person like this or protesting against people like this. Getting hurt? No. He is fully aware that is a possibility. The origin of this conversation a lot of insecure and quick to comment people have jumped into is:

I'm saying he knows he can def get hit. If you see his twitter, it's not the first time he's done it. He's obviously not phased by it. What's more, anyone willing to go to a rally or protest right wing groups is aware that getting hit is a possibility and go regardless. Murder? No. It's highly unlikely. You're more likely to get hit by lightning or by a car crossing the road. For now at least.
