Anti-southwest BRT meeting draws hundreds

Again it stems from the premise that transit causes these incidents and I dispute that.

He never said "transit" causes crime. Stop putting false words into into your opponents mouth.

He actually said these dozens of mini-LRT style heated bus shelters will increase crime.

The fact that you, Mr. Nobody, dispute the obvious to any idiot fact that public defecation and urination, loitering, crime and hard drug elements will increase in the vicinity of toilet-less, heated, open to the public until 2 AM shelters that the city has a proven track record of completely shirking all responsibility for providing security, your opinion means nothing. More credible than your baseless opinion is Brian Whitelaw, the the head of security for the public transport system who directly contradicts you.

According to (Brian Whitelaw, safety and enforcement co-ordinator for Calgary Transit)[http://www.calgarysun.com/2014/09/24/crime-rates-are-down-along-lrt-lines-in-calgary-but-aging-south-leg-is-the-hub-for-bad-behaviour-with-southland-station-the-most-likely-place-to-be-assaulted]

"Southland Station as the most likely place on the LRT line be assaulted, and names the entire south line as responsible for 38% of common assaults, 53% of vandalism, and a third of serious assaults causing bodily harm."

“There are corridors where we just get more calls, and Heritage to Anderson generates a lot of calls,”

“The surveys show people generally feel safe, but less so after 6 p.m.,”

" they are located in an area thick with high schools, leading to a lot of loitering, which leads in turn to petty crime and fights — and the report shows 50% of common assaults on the south line involve youth.
