Anti-speeding tech and 'black box' now mandatory in new EU cars

Disagree. This sounds like a horrible system that will frustrate millions of drivers to catch the few hundreds that are driving fast. Harass the 99% to catch the 1%. All these various alerts are just going to lead to distracted driving. What was wrong with speed cameras?

How about legal consequences? Will drivers face more difficulties in court if the black box logs they dismissed the speed warning? What if the warning was incorrectly issues?

Also I don’t get the logic of dismissing it. “Driver, you are speeding. Please accelerate to dismiss this message”. Wut.

The only good way I can see this being used is if it only warns at 10 or 20 over the limit. But the author said they haven’t clarified what overage amount would prompt the alert.
