Anti-Trump protesters - Violence, Hate, and Intolerance (2016)

I upvoted this video but not because I agree that intolerance of the Trump campaign is itself intolerable, or because I support Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. Personally I am going to vote for Jill Stein in the race but not because I'm a Green Party person (in fact I completely disagree with their positions on homeopathy and reparations, and Stein herself is a horrible public speaker with her own track record of supporting/saying irresponsible things) but more as a protest vote against the two-party system.

The reason I say all this, and why I upvoted this video, is because I think more people need to see the real nature of US politics. On the front page of this sub is another video I upvoted, which is the montage of Trump supporter's being openly hostile and bigoted in their support. This is what the people in this video are reacting to. What I think should be observed is that this scenario is what US politicians of both parties have counted on for the last several decades (it's simply the most tangible form of it yet).

By that I mean they need the lower classes to hate each other due to perceived cultural and moral differences so that the upper class can continue business as usual. The Democrats and Hillary Clinton use the strategy of claiming to give "Progressive" concessions to one section of the lower class while the Republicans and Trump fight to preserve the moral values and lifestyle rights of another. Even if they are successful in their comestic changes, the material conditions of poor Americans never change, and it's because neither side makes any fundamental changes to the system, which values banking and corporate institutions who largely don't care one way or another about either side of the lower class's cultural values.

This year, if you still believe in voting (I'm on the last straw myself) vote your conscience. I'd encourage you to vote 3rd party (Gary Johnson, who I have reservations about, is polling at 15% in some parts of the country). Also work on forming relationships with people in your own community and class that go beyond politics. Neither major party gives a damn about you, only about their donors and their owners, and the only way to fight back against that will be by unity on behalf of the lower class.
