breakups and the associated emotions are a grieving process that take time to heal from rather than a psychological/medical issue. i’ve been in a very similar situation when i was 17 but the antidepressants i was prescribed did very little to nothing to help with the breakup. on top of already struggling with depression and suicidal ideation, i was in a very dark place after my ex girlfriend broke up with me and thought i would never get over it, however, years later i’m glad i persevered. sure i still miss her at times, but to love or have loved, that is enough. there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel even if you can’t see it, just keep pushin you’ll be alright
