This probably isn't the right spot to respond to the general shitstorm you inadvertently caused looking at how hard you're downvoted, but I'd say the biggest issue, given you are European, is a simple matter of interpretation. Liberal and Conservative (capital and lower case) have nuanced meanings across the political spectrum. I.e., your critique re binary thinking is 100% spot on, but your assertions of separating identity from policy position are ridiculous. To give an absurd example to make my point clear in a ridiculous sense, it would be like bragging you are a Nazi but disagree with their position on Jewish people. If the party position is Vaccination is Bad. You should flex your political power as a citizen and abandon the party. If the party position is Jews are bad and cause all of our problems. You should flex your political power as a citizen and not vote for Trump *cough* I mean Hitler. I get being a sports fan is fun, but desperately wanting to always be called a "conservative" regardless of what it means in real time doesn't do humanity any good.
