I have a list of People Not To Be Like, which helps. They're not all domineering. Some had creepy phone sex with their really homely wives in the truck with everyone else having to listen. Some pencilwhipped notes. Some stopped at the liquor store during lunch...Some couldn't be arsed to look away from their iPhone screen in a hard hat zone...

I saw a structural engineer/big munny project manager who...well put it this way: When times were tough and we needed a laugh, we used to leave quarters and tightly folded dollar bills on the floor outside his office before morning stand up meetings. Then pretend we weren't watching as he would spot it, then look around to see if anyone noticed...Then he'd inch his way over, real nonchalant, and deftly put his foot over that quarter. Then he'd take a quick look around, and start sliding that quarter back towards his office...

"Scored a quarter off the floor and no one saw it...cha ching!!!" - Dude pulls million-dollar bonuses.
