The Order of the Bronze Dragon is/was a very famous guild, at least in the sort of circles that would know about groups like that. There have been exactly three people they ever failed to murder and all of them had very good reasons for failure. One turned out to be Palace Guard Tiberius, who easily resisted the poison in his drink and then stabbed the guy who did it. One was High Ascendant Aurum of the Order of the Flame, whose truth telling cane let him know that shaking hands with certain audience members was a bad idea. The last one was naturalist David Irwin, who saw too much and had to go.

The guy they sent to kill Irwin was found dead of flesh eating bacteria long before he reached his target, and then their undercover seaside headquarters were obliterated in a hilariously overkill show of force by an undead battleship controlled by the Bog Mother. The organization still exists since not everyone was there at the time, but they haven't done much recently while they decide who their new leaders are.
