any childfree singaporeans out there?

Reasons why I, a 27 year old woman, do not want kids: (in no particular order)

  1. Brunch. Have you ever seen a mother peacefully having brunch at a cafe without a screaming child or having to feed her child?

  2. Diapers. I rather pick up my dog's poo or clean up cat's poo from the litter bin than wipe liquid shit from an ass x amount of times per day.

  3. Genes. My mom's side of the family have pretty bad eyesight and I started wearing glasses at 4 years of age. Dad's side of the family has a history of high cholesterol as well and my sister, who is pretty fit and watches what she eats, is already taking medication for high cholesterol. Also scared that my baby could have some sort of disability.

  4. Travelling. Trapped in a metal tube thousands of feet up in the air with a screaming baby? Nope.

  5. Mental health issues. I have anxiety and often want to be alone for long periods of time. How am I supposed to do that with a child?

  6. Doing whatever the hell I want, when I want, simply because I can. Wake up at 2pm, eat, pee, go back to bed? Sure, why not! Wake up at noon, go to town for brunch? Heck yes! Deciding to go for a weekend staycation alone? OK hotel booked.

  7. World issues. Adding another human to this polluted and damaged world? Nah.

  8. Teenagers. Knowing how rebellious and shitty I was as one, I don't wanna wish that on myself. Also, trying to imagine my own kid birthed from my body, making cringy tiktok videos like the kids of today is genuinely terrifying.
