Any form of Readied Action or Delayed Action is missing.

If the situation really call for it; how about you just move your order of acting to a later point. Instead of acting before bob in every combat turn for the rest of the combat you now act after bob in every combat turn for the rest of the combat. Shrug.

These are completely doable in SR5, but impossible in SR6.

In SR6 you act in turn but you also 10 different Anytime actions you can take which often is enough to emulate the concept of delaying an action.

"I'd like to delay my action to counter spell if they cast a spell, and if they don't, I'd like to shoot them".

On your turn you save your Major Action (or at least 4 of your Minor Actions). If they decide to cast a spell you take the Counterspell Major Anytime Action. Done.

"I'd like to watch this hallway and shoot them as they cross."

As they pass both of you roll initiative to sort out order of acting. They might also need to take a Reaction + Intuition (3) test to see if they were surprised by you ambushing them. Done.
