The Paro is an absolute joke here at the moment, they are doing all in their power to make it impossible for anyone to claim. I'm waiting from early June for a reply. They don't answer the phones or emails, offices are closed so can't make an appointment and online form is broken as you can't submit without making up a expiry date for your NIE (which has none).

I applied again on 7th July. Finally got through on a number 3 weeks ago and they told me they are still only going through applications from end of April, so literally 3 months behind, they said I would be fine.

A week later I get a generic email to say something was wrong with my application and I have to apply again, called and called and finally got through again, my NIE doesn’t expire, but on form you have to put in an expiry date, won’t let you proceed unless you do, told this is why my application failed, mentioned how ridiculous that was was and they told me to apply again and explain in the observations box (so I don't get penalised), tried that but it’s only 200 characters so couldn’t explain properly. The whole thing is ridiculous and rage inducing, I had to take out a bank loan last week. As far as I'm aware it's extended due to Covid but I wouldn't hold my breath, shambles of a system.
