Any one willing to review my JHU and NYU supplement?

Regarding my JHU and NYU Supplement that i asked someone to review I actually got my teacher to get back to me in time so sorry about that, but I would really appreciate it if you could look over my UPenn supplement and the deadline is tomorrow. Its urgent and I would really appreciate it.

How will you explore your intellectual and academic interests at the University of Pennsylvania? Please answer this question given the specific undergraduate school to which you are applying. (400-650 words).

Bioengineering has always been an interest of mine since I started research in my earlier years, but nothing strikes me quite like UPenn’s program. At no other institution can I work so collectively with other departments and schools to achieve meaningful and practical research to such a degree. Working in UPenn’s School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) I would be able to work with other students in different schools whose work could coincide with mine and I believe that this is something necessary to lead to even greater accomplishments. If us as students are able to work together regardless of being in different schools within the institution it can really help research progress overall.

One of SEAS’s most outstanding and opportunistic features to me is that it offers two undergraduate bioengineering degree options: a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Bioengineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Biomedical Science. This flexibility is offered virtually nowhere else. Exciting and nerve racking at the same time to choose which one to pursue UPenn is giving me the chance to really see what will benefit me. In the area of bioengineering I could continue and advance research I’ve done on microbial fuel cells as an alternative energy source. The potentials of this are truly endless and provide a multitude of opportunities for our society to benefit. My work on microbial fuel cells and finding ways to increase their efficiency has given me insight on a life of bioengineering. If I was to choose Biomedical Science I could pursue my premedical education more cooperatively. The ease for engineering majors with this degree to pursue their premedical interests is made most easy at SEAS where they actually have a specific degree to facilitate it. This degree would help me prepare for a career in medicine if I decide not to have a professional engineering career. Since these programs are nearly identical during the first two years of study, I have would have time to decide which program I plan to stay in while still fulfilling requirements of both paths. This uncertainty of the one I would pursue is what I would thrive on--knowing that SEAS is giving me the opportunity and choice to explore their engineering department and allowing me to become more specialized within an area as I delve deeper and find out specifically what I want to do.

Another factor influencing me to pursue engineering at SEAS is the opportunity to participate in Penn’s Global Medical Research Program. A quote I take from my first research teacher from when we were choosing our first research projects: “Work is meaningless without the opportunity to make something meaningful of it”. Having the opportunity to do something with my talent and academics is vital to me and this program gives the perfect outlet to make something of my work. This program would give me hands on cultural and technical experience where no other institution grants. In this program I would actually start applying my education and make a difference in many underprivileged people’s lives.

So much opportunity lies within UPenn’s engineering program it becomes unrivaled in my eyes to other top tier schools. UPenn’s program makes me feel encouraged to pursue my research and passion no matter the outcome. Learning from what I’ve done has become more important than the success of the research in itself.
