Any reason not to use these outlets that come in 10 packs on amazon?

I would only use 20 amp receps if you have 20 amp circuits, 20 amp breakers and 12 gauge wire. While no harm would happen if you put them on 15 amp breakers and 14 gauge wire, I've suggested it before in a few subreddits and got blasted for it. I guess it's a no-no but I see no harm. I don't see why THAT is wrong, that is, putting a HEAVIER recep on a lighter circuit when the same plugs fit both, and why it IS OK to put 15 amp receps on 20 amp breakers and 12 gauge wire. Go figure.

20 amp receps have an extra horizontal slot in the neutral side so the slot looks like a sideways 'T'. There are some things that actually use a 20 amp 120v plug with this sideways neutral but I've never had one that I can recall.

I looked carefully at the receps in the store, from the cheap 'contractor grade' to the top of the line. I picked a good grade 20 amp recep. They were heftier, had screws that trapped the wire under a square contact washer that didn't require you to put a curl on the end of the wire to wrap around the screw, you could also put 2 wires under each screw. It made all of maybe $50 total difference for all that I changed out. That was 20 years ago and we've had ZERO problems with any of them - even the ones that get a LOT of use / abuse.

I also popped for the higher quality GFCI's as well. Same reason, they were heftier and I've seen cheap GFCIs do a LOT of nuisance tripping. In my last house I also changed every kitchen and bathroom outlet to GFCI rather than have a single GFCI protect the whole circuit. We had a bunch of outlets and when we bought it only the lead one - the only GFCI (where the first outlet was) was way back in a corner where we always stuffed appliances. When it tripped (which it DID a LOT because it was cheap) we had to move stuff to get to it. I replaced all 6 outlets with better quality GFCIs being sure to put the wire FROM each one to the next outlet on the FEED side instead of the LOAD. That way if one tripped only THAT outlet went dead and it was right there where you plugged in to reset.
