No, that's not acceptable. And that person telling the OP they need to get another guinea pig is doing just that, assuming the OP is doing something wrong because they didn't see another guinea pig and because they think they know guinea big husbandry better than anyone else.

If I could just ignore those comments I would but just scroll through this shit, people questioning whether its in god health because of size, shape, etc. If they get to be critical then I get to be critical of them.
