I'm not sure which category this is, but I'll chalk it up to being way too tired and probably should have already been on the ground. I had been flying for hours across several states and coming up to my home airport.
It was dark and skies were scattered. No traffic in the area whatsoever.
As I begin my descent to the airport I get a foreflight warning about traffic, 1-oclock, same altitude and 200 feet (can't remember how far but it was under 500 feet). So I am panicking that someone had forgotten to turn on a transponder until the last moment.
About that time I manage to go through a tiny ass cloud that I didn't see which causes my strobes to hit me in the face for about half a second.
The traffic warning must have been a false return on my own aircraft, so there as nobody there.
But seeing my strobes after that traffic warning made me think I had a midair.
I didn't soil my shorts, but it wouldn't have taken much more!
