Any teens/college students on here struggling with this disorder?

I totally relate, I am 23f and have struggled with weight and obsessions about food, and restrictions, and body image all my life. I became bulimic around 17.

For me, learning about food addiction has been the biggest help. Abstinence from all forms of sugar, flour, nuts, and oil has allowed me to eat more normally. I cannot eat my trigger foods like chips, baked goods, peanut butter, etc, without binging. Even a bite sends my mind reeling for more, I go into a trance almost and eat uncontrollably.

Complete abstinence from trigger foods is the biggest help I have found. I have got a lot of healing from food addicts anonymous and emotions anonymous.

Learning to cope with emotions and stress has been the second biggest help.

I still struggle but not nearly as much. I totally get you and understand the struggle. It’s hard to go through this alone, and I have found the support of people who understand and relate, critical.

Good luck and feel free to message if you need someone to talk to :)
