I find that stillness, emptiness, and silence appear to be the connective tissue in his projects lately. I wish all men my age were watching these shows, it's so life affirming in a strange way to experience his stories. I know I'm not alone, that this quiet, debilitating, emptiness I feel has tried to claim others, but I can chose to fight against it, no matter how impossible living through it may seem, there's always a way through that doesn't involve an irreversible choice. Death doesn't have to be the answer.

The contemplation of silence. Even though space has nothing in it, you exist within it, and by the mere fact of your existence, the space matters, it has meaning, it has life, and you can experience all it's beauty and wonder because you're alive. It reminds me of that one song about the beauty of "... the darkness between the fireflies."

Sorry if I got too up my own ass there, I love this man's work so much. He's helped me in ways he'll never know.
