Any tips to jump rope?

Well, I'm 58 years old, and began getting away from boxing 18 years ago. I broke my leg in a motorcycle accident, and the doctor didn't set it right. It's bent from the knee down. It felt fine for 3 years, but then I could barely walk. I had been in a cast up to my hip for three months, and I couldn't afford surgery and another several months of that, so an orthopedist gave me a shoe with a wedge so I can walk normally. I can jump and jog a little, but it's not really good for it. Surprisingly, I can still throw kicks well, and an old friend and I practiced karate in my garage before covid. We've been thinking about putting bags up because I'm not sure about gyms. I started with bags at home when I was 16, spared with friends then joined a PAL Gym when I was 18. I had much less experience than the guys there. So I would spar there while I was in college, just trying to learn. They wanted everyone to have ameteur fights, but I didn't want to drive 10 hours in a van around the Southwest while in college. I definitely took some shots, but I'm certain they were taking it easy most of the time. Outside of the workout and coach, I think watching some guys work ethic and attitude was really helpful After that, I joined a kickboxing school run by Bill Packer. The most aggressive karate Muay Thai in New Mexico. Was kind of stupid. Too many regular people getting hurt pretty bad. This was when MMA was forming. Mr. Winklejohn, who is Heidi Holmes coach, had some brutal 12 round kickboxing fights there and in Europe. (2min. Rounds). Leg kicking was beginning to be accepted. So that school became Jackson Wink, where Holly fights out of. I moved to San Francisco, at 35, to a violent druggy part of town. I stick out, so I was a target. But for someone who'd been in a handful of streerfights, I ended up getting in like 17 brutal streetfights in 4 years. People without skills are horrible fighters. It was multiple opponents that could suck. But winning a streetfight is just being able to survive with everything you brought. I nailed a guy once and 5 guys jumped me, were kicking me and shit. Got my Nokia phone. But I had about 8 combined years of study to save me and to be able to walk away whole when it was done. It sucks being old. Now that I know about brain damage, I doubt I'll be sparring, even if I could find the right group. Be young when you're young. Learn how to fight, and use yer dick while it works good. Don't get married and have kids. Until maybe forty. Lol.
