any unpopular music opinions?

When I heard Geddy’s vocals for the first time I was unable to take any of it remotely seriously. I just kept thinking in my head that “this is a man’s voice” and kind of giggling to myself. I’m still not super, super fond of Rush but I think the extended instrumental sections on Hemispheres were what sold me on them. Geddy’s voice is primarily the most divise thing about the band, so you’re definitely not alone on that front.

In regards to “unpopular” opinions, I think a lot of arena rock is incredibly overblown and cheesy for the most part. This applies to a lot of other mainstream rock acts (such as the hair metal bands) in my opinion. I don’t think hard and pop rock mix all that well and I just find power ballads to be pretty unbearable. Kind of unfortunate considering my parents listened to a lot of that sort of music when I was younger, but ah well what can you do.
