any way to get anything outside of a dentistry check up while on welfare?

its a long story

the Uni i want to go to wont let you just start a degree after almost a decade of no schooling so they have a requirement that you need at least 6 months work experience in the industry you will be studying THEN you need to do a diploma then they will let you do a bachelors

this is stupid because the area i want to go into is very specialised and no ones going to give some one with no qualifications work experience (its like asking to do work experience as a doctor just wont happen) so my mate said he'll ask his work they said no because they have to pay me but i have no qualifications so they wont do it

now he's in a real senior position like at a international level so he can kind of just do what he wants and no one will really question it and he just made me a security pass (as he is also in charge of that) and said just come into work with him to job shadow

it was meant to be 3 days a week about 18 hours a week but i actually like what we do so ive ended up working the same amount of hours he does
