Is anyone able to explain like I'm five literally how to have conversations with people? LIke what to say in different situations etc? Yep, I'm that one, 'awkward extrovert' you know from college....

If I'm tired, or trying to interact with someone who isn't helping at all, I'm also classic awkward extrovert. But normally I have kind of a system if this happens: you talk about the JEWS.

lol.

But really though:

J - job... What they do? Why did they get into that field? How do they like it? etc

E - education if job doesn't apply. Where are you in school? What are you studying? Why?

W - weather. I know this is stereotypical small talk but it truly is a universal language because we all experience the same weather. Plus you can talk about you weekend plans, or upcoming vacations in the context of weather.

S - similar interests. This one is last, hopefully by going through JEW, you have come across some nugget that y'all both have in common or that is interesting about the other person and you can talk about for a while with actual interest. "Oh yeah it sucks it's going to rain today I was really looking forward to barbequing", or "wow you're a teacher? What grade/subject, how do you like it?', etc.

I know it might be stupid to have a little mnemonic device like this but if the other person is a shitty conversationalist it's good to have in your back pocket.
