Anyone have bone broth recipes to share?

Honestly don't think there's any huge reason to have broth if you don't want to put in the effort. I like it because when I flare up I can do a water fast for a day, then I drink bone broth for an additional day or two and it gives my digestion system a nice break without too gnarly of a fast (not a fan of more than 24 hour water fasting, just dont feel good after that).

That said there's three schools of thought. You can get everything you need from just steak and fat, or you can get everything you need from steak, eggs, fish, butter, tallow, liver, marrow, other organ meats possibly including sweetbreads brains heart etc, salmon eggs, high quality cheese / kefir, etc. I am of the second one there and eat all of those things, and of course the third, which is basically anywhere in between. But there's not much in bone broth that's not already in all the other stuff.

For whatever reason though I do find it very healing to the gut as I have Crohns. Can't explain it. Also I like to sometimes eat meats in broth for a change from steak and whatever.

So if you still want to put in the effort because, you can, then basically the best way in my opinion is using an instant pot. You don't need much of a recipe. You just make your pulled meat, chicken or beef or whatever. I don't tend to even use any ingredients because honestly I never noticed much penetration doing it before hand and it's a hassle so I salt the meat after it's shredded (you could season it if you're not strict). I just throw a whole chicken or a roast in the instant pot with a cup of water, and set it for the appropriate time for the size.

After you shred up your meat, throw the bones back in for 2 hours on high. If you are transitioning slowly and you want to throw a carrot or onion or garlic or celery in there for flavor do your thing. If you are going pure 100% carnivore it comes out fine with just a little salt and the bones. You can save up some bones from steaks or whatever else. Instant pot is totally worth it for both bulk cooking shredded meat from cheaper cuts and chicken (although I don't eat chicken often because I try to eat high quality meat and properly raised chicken costs more than grass fed steak sometimes) and the broth comes out like your best batch of all day slow cooked broth. Something about the pressure. Maybe it pushes the stuff out of the bones or something. I dont know. but its good both in flavor and visually (it often goes solid at room temp).

.

TLDR: instant pot shred your chicken or beef roast. Put the bones back in for 2 hours. Buy/add extra bone if you need to. It comes out fine with just salt, add whatever else you want that is on your okay list, up to you.
