From research. People do discuss how evaluations are done. It's not a state secret. I would say a person who has gone through a single evaluation is not an authority. I would prefer to get my information from evaluators primarily on how the process works.

I don't know where you get your information but I don't think someone giving you a written test and ignoring you would be a valid evaluation. There are other tests that are normally done, early childhood history is normally considered, and other things.

In the cost of evaluation in the US is a couple thousand dollars. The testing is involved. Maybe if someone found someone on CraigsList saying they do evaluations for $100 would just hand people a written test, but I wouldn't consider that an actual evaluation.
