I'm pretty happy with my current FC. Many of us have been in FCs together in the past and banded together for this one. It's a nice, comfortable environment. We talk pretty often in-game and on Discord. One thing I will note is that it's not organized in a super-structured manner, though. For example, we don't have regular activities (like "Mount Farm Mondays" or whatever). We just do things as the mood strikes us and leave it at that. I personally MUCH prefer that way of doing things, but I know it's not right for everyone.

I can't say I searched specifically for this, though. I've been in quite a few FCs before, and I've got to say, I don't think the nature of FFXIV really supports them. I feel pretty lucky that I've met a group that I jive with well.
