Has anyone else been way too scared to keep a journal/diary because their Nparent might access it?

I think the encryption idea is fantastic, so long as you felt confident they would not force you to open these files if the discovered them, though it sounds like if its set up correctly they wouldn't even be able to identify them. I have hella feels reading this. I only attempted to keep a dairy twice in my life. The first time was 2nd grade where I expressed having a crush on someone resulting in a spanking my mother saying something along the lines of I "wasn't going to be some whore." The second time when my mother and I went back to our home country. I made very few entries...what i did write was bleak because the trip was super duper intense. I threw these pages away years later when I uncovered the diary as an adult (and was staying at my mothers for a few weeks before moving to a new apartment) She discovered these going through the trash in my room and when i returned from work had flattened them out and forced me to read them to her as she could not read all my handwriting. It was a damaging and truly terrible experience. Whatever you do be careful. I had a xanga the whole time and she did not get the internet...so that was a good outlet. "Blogging" gave me a little escape...and also made me feel like a had a body of proof if i ever needed it Sorry for the long response... I hope you find safety and peace in keeping a journal!
