Anyone else have chronic depression?

I know DBT can be very helpful for lots of different mental illnesses--or even for people without mental illness. It's especially helpful for people with BPD or emotional dysregulation.

I'm glad it's been pretty helpful for you. I haven't been able to find a therapist though so I haven't really had the option of doing DBT or having a treatment plan.

I've watched lots of videos about depression (including ones on DBT), and read lots of articles and person accounts about specific things I'm feeling or dealing with. I own a DBT manual. It's just hard to treat yourself on your own, you know? Usually I lack self-motivation.

I don't feel like my depression can't be effectively/successfully treated. I just haven't been able to find the help I need. Antidepressants aren't an option for me because of the side effects. About a month ago, when I was feeling not as bad, I started looking into supplements that work kind of like antidepressants. But I haven't followed up on it.
