Has anyone else converted to Buddhism after leaving Christianity?

That's a fairly common experience. Many of the cults and religions are similar, they offer you unfounded beliefs and a tribe to belong to.

Having said that, yes Buddhists have discovered many helpful things about how the brain works over the centuries, just like Christians made advances with science in the west. They learnt how to train the mind to be free from all suffering, and increase joy and peace. Science has also shown that meditation makes the brain age better and many other benefits too.

I'd recommend The Mind Illuminated book, there's a community for it here too r/TheMindIlluminated, it offers an efficient easy step by step path to achieving meditation mastery. I've only been practicing it for a short time and am already heaps happier, more at peace, and far less anxious.
