Anyone else deeply uncomfortable with the fandom's worship of CPS?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and unique (or maybe not so unique) insight with us. I’m so sad just reading this and it has given me a new perspective, or at least reminded me of what can happen to kids put through “the system”.

It’s easy to forget that these are real people with real flaws, shown to us in highly edited footage. I agree that no one on the show has displayed truly unfit parenting on camera. At least nothing worthy of the kids being forced into the homes of strangers where they could be abused, neglected, traumatized, or worse (maybe Leah driving high, but the girls had Corey who really stepped up as the providing parent during that time).

I appreciate the comments in this thread mentioning other programs and that CPS isn’t always the answer when there are reports of misconduct in a home. I think CPS has become synonymous with any type of intervention by a social worker or the state in the TM community and clearly that’s not correct. I really am pretty uneducated on this topic, so from now on I’m going to try keeping my dramastic self in check when it comes to these kids.

Thanks OP and good luck to you. ❤️
