Anyone else feel like they don’t “recognise” this Manchester United?

All those you mention have been excellent. The difference is that they play as inside-forwards - a right-footer on the left and a left-footer on the right (or are good with both feet,) not out-and-out wingers. Some of the old winger functions tends to come from the full-backs these days but from a much deeper position than a winger. What I'm talking about is a Giggs on the left and a Kanchelskis on the right. Having said that, i'd be very happy if we signed two quality two-footers, like Perisic and Griezmann, which, I believe, would give us a much better option of being able to take the ball to the by-line and deliver a quality cross instead of running into cul-de-sacs by always trying to dribble inside. I think Rashford and Martial will be top-drawer players when they fully develop, but, currently, with no real right-winger (left or right footed) there is no-one that can carry an attacking game on the wings when they, due to their youth, are inconsistant. Just my opinion.
