Anyone else feeling kind of saddened by the stereotypical images of youth?

I'm not sad at all. I attended a high school due to my father's job relocation which consisted of teens living in an exurb rapidly thrown together by hungry developers which consisted of parents moving out of the city so their children would not have to attend school with "negroes and Mexicans." When I graduated college, I moved back down from that awful exurb and planted my feet into the city and made sure my kids would definitely attend school with all of those awful "Mexicans and negroes." And yes, my kids had slumber parties, snuck out when I was asleep to go skinny-dipping at the Howard Johnson's a few blocks away, and generally did what teenagers are supposed to do. They hung out at the local pizza place several blocks away which was owned by a family, and was not a franchise. And their best friends are, lo and behold, "Mexicans and Negroes." I feel so very sorry for the generation of kids growing up in the exurbs where there is no sense of community or purpose. This is one major reason why the Columbine killings happened.
