anyone else getting bored of the succession war arc?

hmm, you have a point there.

The omniscient viewpoint really helps us glimpse into the thought processes of opposing parties and makes for great strategic battles. However, the drawback of this writing style is that we can't get emotionally attached as thoroughly as we want to. We connect to a character then we get yanked away. Togashi wants to circumvent this by making their motivations kind and humane and revealing their feelings so we can get connected fast but well, in the end they're still secondary characters. You can't rush emotional connection. Another drawback is when you, the reader, know the enemy's ability it makes it less mysterious and scary.

Like a nen ability, he has to utilize his great ability which is telling fantastic stories with the narrator/god-perspective but has to work around the drawbacks in order to maintain your interest.
