Is anyone else irrationally and completely unjustifiably annoyed by characters with "weird" names in books?

Well, wrb357, if I am understanding you correctly, it would appear that you are greatly annoyed by non standard names of characters in novels...

perhaps annoyed by the fact that those names are non standard Anglo-Saxon names?!

If so... whelp... I am afraid to say that the vast majority of great literary traditions and history demonstrate how "exotic" and "foreign" sounding names can greatly enhance a literary work of art!

FOR EXAMPLE: "Darth Vador"...

Does that sound like a normal, standard, Anglo-Saxon name to you?

"HeathCliff"...

Does that sound like a normal, standard, Anglo-Saxon name to you?

"Humbert-Humbert"

Does that sound like a normal, standard, Anglo-Saxon name to you?

"Garp"...

Does that sound like a normal, standard, Anglo-Saxon name to you?

"Huckleberry Finn"

Does that sound like a normal, standard, Anglo-Saxon name to you?

ANYWAYS...

The list goes on, and on...

As such, wrb357, I think I might have to disagree with you little bit on this point of yours!
