Anyone else’s MSW program absolute crap?

I was super unhappy in my first year for a similar reason, thinking, 'I only have two years, we better pack this clinical knowledge in.' I also wanted more rigor, had similar UG experience, and several years in the field...But the social work approach and the ethos of the discipline, the values of social work, and ethics make it much different than other disciplines and in a positive way.

It will get better in your specialization or concentration year. Promise.

As my supervisor said this morning, grad school provides a "sketch" of what you need to continue in the early part of your training as a licensed professional.

Also, pushing back here... if you have learned nothing then you are not working hard enough. There is a faculty full of people who know more than you and you had better take advantage of those relationships that are there specifically for you to learn from.
