That's like here in the states, when you see yahoos like this but they have a ragged old and torn American flags flying, and despite all their "lest we forget" and nationalism, far right nonsense. They don't even know (at least in the US) that you're supposed to take down an old flag and have it retired (burned in a dignified way), usually by a local when it gets too bad. Generally local fire stations or veterans associations will accept them and burn a bunch of them ceremoniously with honor guard present.

Just sticks out to me that with all this nonsense they display, the New Zealand flag is in an absolutely disrespectful condition. Not sure what NZ has has for guidelines and rules in that area, but I know it's just all sorts of crazy hypocrisy.
