Is anyone familiar with Khiri/Khyret? I want to learn more about it and there is nothing about it online.

My mother is Lebanese and also does khire based on a method taught by her late father Allah yerhamo. However, she does it differently. She takes masbaha (beads), recites a few words/sentences (I couldn't tell you what exactly) and then does tasbeeh for about a minute until she gets to the result. She essentially will have an amount of beads between her two hands at the time of the result. If she gets nine beads between her hands, it means that the decision is "good" and if she gets eight beads, it means that the decision is "neutral". Finally, if she gets any other amount of beads between her hands, it means that the decision is "bad". I personally have stopped asking my mom to do khire on my behalf a long time ago because I am doubtful about it (on whether its results are accurate). The tasbeeh method is also not common in the religious circles from what I have seen and is rarely discussed in the few religious references on istikhara I have come across. The method is also seen as backwards by my shia lebanese counterparts.
