Anyone here a Technical Relationship Manager for Citrix?

Current TRM here as well. I've been in the role for almost 7 years and have seen the job change in many ways good and bad. To answer your list:

What was experience as a whole? My experience has run the gamut of I need more to do to holy crap are you trying to kill me with work. They are a good employer overall but sometimes make screwy decisions. The availability to work remotely is a plus for me and the focus on technology is great as well. Other benefits are pretty standard and salaries are competitive as well. You didnt say what team SW or HW but I can say that the HW team is pretty stressed and are all pretty loaded up with accounts more than any time that I have seen. This is changing, there are 2 positions open on my team and at least 2 others in the FL area. I dont think I'm any busier or more stressed than I would be elsewhere based on talking to friends and networking contacts. My experience has been positive or I probably wouldnt have stuck it out for so long.

How was it working for them? I mostly covered this above. I dont get micromanaged or overly focused on. I do my job, keep track of my hours and keep my customers happy. Simple enough.

Your experience as a TRM? Its a tough job, most TRM customers can tolerate little in the way of outages or issues so its high pressure. But its rewarding and for me the plusses outweigh the minuses. Its not perfect but no job is. The grass is always greener is how I look at it.

Do they provide any incentives, such as free education (citrix courses), etc? As the other person said yes and the internal stuff is variable in quality, certs are paid for either by onsite testing in the offices or vouchers for remote employees and there are opportunities for other training and a tuition reimbursement benefit as well. Its a little difficult to take advantage of it during work hours but I see both as worthy of my personal time, I'd be trying to learn stuff anyway, so I'm not too concerned about it.

What you liked and didn't like about both, working for Citrix and being a TRM. I like the focus on staying technically current, the interaction with a steady pool of customers (hence Relationship) and the flexibility that Citrix offers its employees. What I dont like is the current situation, the workload is high (its been high in the past and the pendulum will swing back) , the focus on the mundane (time tracking) is mind numbing and apparently some managers are micromanagers, again mine isnt or is too busy to pay me any mind. The travel, while a potential for all of us, is not guaranteed but for me its not an issue.

TL;DR -> Its a tough, sometimes high pressure job. The team camaraderie is good when there's time and the benefits are good. No job is perfect, this one is good for me now. There are moves to make after sometime as well if I want to make it a career. Good luck on your decision if you havent made it already and if you have specific questions PM me.
