Anyone made the jump from books to PDFs? And how did it go?

Never liked PDFs. They don't have the book smell. And the artwork never looks as good. And you can't put them on a shelf.

This is fetishization of books that doesn't really have much to do with actually running the game at the table. Any publisher worth supporting will provide a PDF when you purchase a hardcover copy, so you can have the best of both worlds.

Plus searching through them for specific passages is slow and cumbersome

You can literally find any specific passage by searching for it, though.

I can stick bookmarks and post-its in the working copies of my books to mark passages and archive old judge calls.

You can also bookmark pages in PDFs...
