Is anyone part of an LGBTQ and/or “diversity committee” at work? Being forced to join a committee...

That’s why you have to present ideas as a business plan with a ROI.

A hospital committee in my area wanted to present themselves as allies for the LGBTQ and be the “forefront” of the movement towards tolerance. The hospital ended up being the first to implement stuff like genderless bathrooms, additional social services, and the ability for patients to “define” their gender on their medical record. One outcome that the committee intended was increased patient satisfaction scores (which they achieved) and in effect, reimbursement. Another outcome was bringing in elective gender reassignment procedures, which is an even bigger payout.
