Anyone selling and upgrading to a bigger home in this insane market?

Not crazy. I'd look at how the new neighborhood has responded to market swings in the past. In my hcol area there are nicer neighborhoods which stayed flat or increased and did not lose value through the past few US recessions. If I needed to trade up I'd pay the premium to take that forward bet as well. If that is the case with where you're looking it would give you another solid financial reason to make the move. Other mcmansion type "nicer" neighborhoods also lost value during these periods and were harder to move at their higher price points. This is in the same hcol area geographically just a few miles separated. The data is all publicly out there so some food for thought as you run the financials
