There are several tutorials to downgrade.
My problem now is disabling OTA updates without losing the nice dark brown backgrounds in the side and top menus.
By which I mean, in order to disable OTA updates, you need to achieve root, and then follow these steps.
Now, the results of following those steps seems promising. I've probably disabled OTA updates (won't be sure until morning, when I'm either prompted to install or I'm not), but in the process of rooting (I forget where I found instructions on that) my side and top menus changed to white backgrounds, which I frankly hate.
So now I'm trying to figure out to get the brown menus back. I've learned a factory reset will do that, but of course, when I factory reset, I lose root, and I'm sure the OTA updates are re-enabled.
Anyway, lemme know if you have questions with those links. All of these forums are written with a target audience in mind that knows a lot more than I did a few days ago, so it took A TON of Googling to understand all of those incredibly brief instructions. If you can follow them as is, more power to you. If you need something a little more verbose, just ask.
