I am Nick from Brainmates. We are a Product Management training and consulting business located in Sydney. We specialise in supporting product managers and product management teams to deliver better products and services to their customers. Brainmates has been delivering these services since 2004 to a very wide range of clients from many industries.

You are correct that we do not consult in mobile advertising solutions.

Our relationship with Leadbolt has been with their Head of Product who is an active and a well respected member of the product management community. Last year Leadbolt was one on many sponsors at the Leading the Product Conference that Brainmates organsies. The benefit for organisations to sponsor such an event is to align them with the product management community and to help find and identify potential new product management staff.

Please let me clarify a couple of the comments that you have made in relation to Brainmates:

I was in touch with him via email and he kept referring me to other consulting companies related to Brainmates in Sydney, which seems like a scam as they do not seem to consult in mobile advertising solutions. 

You are correct. Brainmates does not consult in mobile advertising solutions. We do however help organisations with a wide range of consulting services that relate to the products that they offer and the markets that they are supporting. If you were referred to Brainmates it would be with the intention to inquire about support in these areas.

I think they are a scam but I am intrigued as to how they are related to Brainmates as that seems to be an academy and a front for several consulting firms by different names.

Brainmates are not a front for several consulting firms. We provide training services and consulting services in relation to the area of product management within organisations. We have been doing so for the last 15 years. If there any specifics that you are concerned about then please let me know so that we can clarify any confusion.

So I do think that this company has influence but maybe it's a front to get people to work with Brainmates consulting firms than actual social influencer marketing. 

There is no "front". We have a website for that. If there was a referral it would be to get help with Product Management training or consulting.

It seems that people can do Brainmates courses, join leadbolt or its sister firms and then amazing promotions within months and get great jobs elsewhere. 

This is great feedback. We are always delighted to hear that Product People who invest their time in training and professional development create opportunities for themselves to get better jobs and /or promotions.
